They must be sold through a Federal Firearms License holder. Even though these rifles are unserviceable they are still considered a firearm by the United States government. The 1903 rifles offered here have serial numbers above 800,000. Again the rifle pictured is a typical example, it is not the rifle you will receive. Of all the thousands of 03 type rifles butchered in this manner most were M1903A3s. The cut off is welded to prevent the bolt from being removed and the firing pin hole has a small bead of weld over it. A bead of weld has been applied to the receiver and the rear of the barrel. Typical of school issue drill rifles, the barrels have been plugged by inserting a rod into the chamber, then the rod being fixed by drilling a hole through the bottom of the barrel and filling it with weld.
#1903 REMINGTON RIFLE CRACKED#
Not every rifle will have the following however one can expect, cracked stocks, sling keeper damage on the bottom of the forend, bent rear sight ladder’s, missing front sight blades, cracked hand guards, bent sling swivels, and other damage due to being twirled, dropped, and abused. Being drill rifles they have suffered abuse. These model 1903 rifles have been issued to high schools and colleges and used as drill rifles by ROTC cadets. Not every rifle will have a finger groove stock. Rifles are complete, pictured is an example. Model 1903 rifles that have been rendered unserviceable.
